To Conclude things on I saw on my weekend adventure to the Chrysler section of the Atlanta North Pull-A-Part Junkyard, submitted for your approval have this bone stock base Plymouth Sundance. We’ve all ready seen its K-Car brothers 1st and 2 Gen Minivans, and its 70s equivalent the Volare. This car was obliviously loved and cherished by probably just one owner from new.
Clean with Factory Hub Caps
A little Paint Peel on the rear as typical for this age Chrysler Product
Just over 71,000 original miles
Automatic Transmission, AC and AM/FM Radio that concludes the options checked when this was new.
Perhaps the Coolest Hatchback design to come out of Detroit, of course the gas struts are toast so I had to take this with one hand holding up the hatch.
I’m off to Pull-A-Part
Atlanta East Next Weekend looking for more part and they have a Vintage Car Section. It should be fun!

You learn something new every day. I had no clue these were hatchbacks! That is a really cool design. I wish more cars were designed like this. The virtues of the hatch are endless. Like 8ft collapsable tables and Home Depot trees in the hatch of an LS1 Camaro.

Oh man I forgot about that single DIN rear defrost button. I do not miss mine at all. What a fucking pile.

My brother had 2 of these an 87 he bought used and a 92 Plymouth Duster version with the 3.0 Mitsubishi V6 he bought new with a stick, that thing would melt front tires. The 87 was a pile though.

IT looked mostly all there I didn’t look at it that closely
because it doens’t interest me. I grew up in 1st and 2nd gen Minivans and my Brother had a couple of Su
ndances. so I noticed those and how can you miss a moss covered Volare

Man, this makes me miss the first car I titled and drove on the road. 1990 dodge shadow coupe. I eventually swapped in a turbo caravan engine into it too. I loved that it was a hatchback, it was really versatile. I’m pretty sure the hatch shocks were blown on every single one of these though.

I maintain that liftbacks are sub-class of hatchbacks.

71k, going to bet it ate the HG, which led Grandma to go buy a new car.

Mine was a 92 with the lowest tier 4 banger and an auto. When people say, “slush box” that was literally the transmission they speak of. Couldn’t spin the tires in the snow.

I know I’m late to the party, but my grandfather actually drove a 4-door Plymouth Sundance very much like this (but green), and I inherited it and drove it for a few years after he died. 100% honest, reliable transportation.
